What to Look For When Buying Writing Tablets

Key factors weighted in our ranking system

Pack Size and Value

Consider how many writing tablets you need. For classroom rewards or large events, bulk packs like the Zhehao 64 Pcs Lcd Writing Tablet Bulk for Kids or the Party Favors for Kids, 30 Pack offer significant savings per unit, making them ideal for distributing to many children.

Screen Size and Durability

Most popular writing tablets, including all those on our list, feature an 8.5-inch screen, which is a versatile size for both drawing and note-taking. Look for models with sturdy construction to withstand frequent use by children, especially if they're intended for party favors or school settings.

Color Display vs. Monochrome

While many basic writing tablets offer a monochrome display, some models, like the Party Favor 12 Pack LCD Writing Tablet for Kids, boast colorful drawing capabilities. This can significantly enhance the creative experience for children, making their doodles more vibrant and engaging.

Intended Use and Audience

Determine if the tablets are for individual use, party favors, or educational rewards. Products like the Party - Party Favors for Kids, 20 Pack are explicitly marketed for school classroom rewards, indicating their suitability for bulk distribution and general child-friendly use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions for shoppers comparing Writing Tablets

Are these writing tablets suitable for very young children?

Yes, LCD writing tablets are generally very safe and easy for young children to use. They are stylus-operated, mess-free, and eliminate the need for paper, making them perfect for toddlers and preschoolers to doodle and practice writing. The 8.5-inch size, common across models like the Party - Party Favors for Kids, 20 Pack, is comfortable for small hands.

How long do the batteries last in these writing tablets?

Most LCD writing tablets use a small coin-cell battery (CR2025 or CR2032) that powers the erase function. Since the screen itself doesn't consume power to display the image, these batteries can last for tens of thousands of erases, often for several months to a year or more with typical use. For most shoppers, the Zhehao 20 Pack 8.5 Inch LCD Writing Tablet Drawing Board offers reliable battery life for extended fun.

Can these writing tablets save drawings or notes?

No, the primary function of these basic LCD writing tablets is for temporary drawing and note-taking, with a single button to clear the entire screen. They do not have internal memory to save individual drawings. If saving digital copies is a priority, you would need a more advanced digital notebook or tablet with storage capabilities, but for simple doodling, the Party Favor 12 Pack LCD Writing Tablet for Kids is perfect.

What's the main difference between the 'Party' and 'Zhehao' brands on your list?

Both 'Party' and 'Zhehao' brands offer excellent value for bulk purchases of 8.5-inch LCD writing tablets, primarily targeting party favors, classroom rewards, or multi-child households. The core functionality is very similar across their offerings. 'Zhehao' tends to offer slightly larger bulk packs like the Zhehao 64 Pcs Lcd Writing Tablet Bulk, while 'Party' also focuses heavily on smaller, more manageable party favor quantities such as the Party - Party Favors for Kids, 20 Pack, often highlighting colorful screen options.
